Upcoming Event: Legal, judicial, and tax challenges in football 2024: The (re)regulation of agents, transfers, and competitions in a changing legal environment

On February 27th, EFAA, in collaboration with Laffer Abogados and ESQUAD Abogados, will host an event in Madrid.

This past year has witnessed a surge in legal actions within football opposing the FIFA Football Agents Regulations. The outcomes have been diverse, leading us into a period of regulatory uncertainty. In response, EFAA, alongside ESQUAD Abogados and Laffer Abogados, aim to bring stakeholders from across football together to discuss viable alternatives for the future of regulating agents and the challenges we are currently facing in football today.

The event’s agenda presents an insightful lineup featuring key highlights, including a presentation of FIFA’s Football Agent Working Group, shedding light on the current global state of football agent regulations and delving into the intricacies of the group’s work. Furthermore, the event will provide a comprehensive examination of the future regulation of football agents from a global perspective, engaging in discussions about potential changes to the existing framework and considering international implications. Additionally, the agenda addresses critical aspects of football functionality, such as taxation, market windows, and calendars, while also exploring avenues to enhance image rights exploitation within the football industry.
